Right, so for years my alternate picking has been on and off. Speed wise, one day my best will be 140bmp after a good while, then it'll drop to 120bmp and even worse with 16th notes/semiquavers. The one thing I am happy with over the last few months is that my picking control and synchronization is MUCH better. How ever, no matter how small I make my movements and try to accent at great speeds... it just doesn't work! Is doesn't seem to be my accenting... because I can't even tremlo freely; Maybe only 120bmp or lower. I only pick from my wirst.

Any suggestions would be great .

    Hey Keelan,

As cliche as it sounds, it's just going to take more practice. That's great that you're practicing with accenting. I think practicing with accenting can be huge in outlining the pulse and keeping your sense of timing in line. Just for varied exercises, I'd also recommend accenting on different 16th note counts.

    For example, instead of:
1 ee and uh 2 ee and uh 3 ee and uh 4 ee and uh

    Try:
1 ee and uh 2 ee and uh 3 ee and uh 4 ee and uh

Also, continue to work on your stamina so your muscles and muscle memory stay sharp and can progress to faster levels. Here's a super old tutorial I did with some exercises for that: http://www.infiniteguitar.com/guitar...p?tutorial=124

Thanks so much for the response! I'll get to work.

    Many thanks.
