Hey,

My name is Dan I am a 41 year old guy who has been messing around with the guitar for years now. I have been seriously trying to get good for the past few years though.

My main guitar heros are Alex Lifeson, James Hetfield, Ty Tabor, Adrian Smith and Dave Murray.

I am mainly a rock/blues player. I have always wanted to be able to shred like John Petrucci but I just cannot get my hands to go that fast.

This seems like a cool place though and the lessons are quite good from what I have seen.

Great to have you here. You've got some excellent influences listed there. Hetfield and Petrucci are some of my favorites as well. I'm pretty big into metal rhythm playing, and Hetfield was a huge influence for me in that area.

Welcome dan! This is a great place to learn anything that would be on your mind guitar-wise. And some good influences you have there. They have always been big on my list as well.

And who knows, after being on this site for a few months you just might be able to tear it up like Petrucci.
