When I opened this thread back in March (when it was still freezing here in New England) I opened it with my favorite solo being Buckethead's solo on Nottingham Lace.
Although I still consider that solo to be superb I have since changed my mind. (Now there's a shock.)

    Buckethead - Siege Engine
    David Gilmour - Comfortably Numb
Robert Fripp - Fracture (With King Crimson)
Ritchie Blackmore - Highway Star (Live version - Made In Japan)
Richard "Dickie" Betts - In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed
Tony Iommi - Over and Over

There. That makes 6 solos. Not 10!!!!!!

    So many favorite guitar solos!!
I guess these would be some of my favorites (not in any particular order)
I rate them as songs/solo's that I could listen too over and over again for the rest of my life!

Steve Vai - Stevie's Spanking (Frank Zappa - Them or Us album)
Yngwie J. Malmsteen - Far Beyond The Sun
    Yngwie J. Malmsteen/Alcatrazz - Hiroshima Mon-Amour
    Michael Schenker - Captain Nemo
Steve Morse - Cruise Missile/Tumeninotes (Tied) and then everything else solo and Dregs!
    Alan Holdsworth - Panic Station
Jimi Hendrix - Red House (Live at Woodstock)
    Jimi Hendrix - Voodoo Child
Jeff Beck - Where Were You

    Hi rgbrock1,

Now there's two that take me back! I wore out the Deep Purple Made In Japan album a long time ago. Ritchie played with tone and killer vibrato on it for sure.

The Allman Brothers Live At Fillmore East was another album I wore out.

    Thanks for the reminder.

Oh man this is a though one.
I'm gonna say the ones I can remember right now.

"Comfortably Numb" - Pink Floyd (David Gilmour)
"Sweet child of mine" - Guns n' Roses (Slash)
"Another day" - Dream Theater (John Petrucci)
"Alone" - James Labrie (Marco Sfogli)
    "Jigsaw" - Marillion (Steve Rothery)
    and many more

I want to put some of Guthrie Govan but they're not solos actually. One is the intro to Waves and the other is the improvisation over the larry Carlton style track.
The phrasing he has just blows me away.

edit: (can't forget about marillion and misspell Mr Gilmour name!lol)
