We are going to get creative with the Pentatonic scale by creating a hybrid of two scales:
A minor Pentatonic and E minor Pentatonic

There are a number of ways you can visualize these shapes to make it easier for yourself. There are 2 methods which you can try. Either you can think completely in A minor (dorian) or you can think A minor on the lower 3 strings and E minor on the upper three strings.

OK, here's a no frills improvisation example using the Pentatonic Hybrid scale. Hopefully, you can hear how pleasing it is to the ear with the addition of the 9th to the scale.
