Hi, I’m Steve from OKC. I am 48 years old and decided 2 years ago to commit myself to finally learning how to play guitar. I played off and on since I was a teenager, but never consistently enough to improve. The last 2 years I’ve increased my practice time from 1 hour daily to 3 hours daily now. Love the site, lots of useful lessons. My question – is there a way to mark a lesson completed? Thanks, and look forward to working my way through the numerous lessons!

Welcome Steve! Wow 3 hours a day, that is excellent. What kind of lesson material/music are you focusing on? Do you compose at all?

Lesson completion is a great idea. We’ll see what we can do!

Hi Sean! I try to spend time each practice session touching on technique (currently working on sweep and economy picking), scales and arpeggios (currently learning blues scale and 7th arpeggios), chords (currently Jazz 7th chords), reading music, ear training, and then creative stuff (improvising and composition). Of course I like to learn songs too!!! My love is classic rock and all styles of the Blues. I am spending more time currently with Jazz and even a little Country (but not a big fan of country). To push my limits I am also spending some time with classical guitar stuff.

Excellent man, I admire how you’re branching out to genres you don’t particularly gravitate towards, that is dedication right there and it’ll certainly pay off! :guitar:

Hit us up with some clips if you ever get a chance!

Well, I have a nephew that is trying to break into the rap scene, so I have had to increase my musical sensibilities!!! As far as clips of myself playing, I first have to learn how to do that!

And I will only post a clip once I feel I am worthy! You and your colleagues humble me!

Just a quick update…this feature is in the works! Might be a little time before it’s officially implemented, but it will be for sure.
