I only have access to this site for a month and I am trying to decide whether I want to pursue using this site as a resource into furthering my guitar playing, it was part of the Musicians Bundle that I bought earlier this month. But one thing I have found is that a number of lessons that I have tried to load have not worked. Particularly the video accompanying the lesson and any images associated with the lesson, that is, the tab. As it is the majority of lessons do not load, so, is this because I am ‘not’ a full member, or is this a persistent problem with the site?
And how often are new lessons added? Of the few lessons that did work, I was impressed with the quality, particularly a lesson on 7 string riffing and the 2 ‘djent’ lessons. Are you planning on having more lessons in this vein? I would also like to see a series along with writing your own riffs in modern metal sense rather than learning others riffs so I can make a start on writing my own music. Perhaps this is covered in one of the lessons that does not load :(.June 22, 2013 at 6:12 pm #26379
Glad you found us!
We haven’t been having any other reports like this recently. Many times stuff like this has to do with internet browser glitches. Have you tried using a different browser and/or computer to see if the problem persists? And is it safe to assume you have a fast broadband connection?June 23, 2013 at 2:09 am #26380
Yes, I did try another computer and I have 3 browsers on my main working computer for those occurrences when FireFox doesn’t work, and it is a rather fast broadband connection, as far as Australia is concerned, the 100mbps broadband roll-out is only available to small areas thus far . But it was after the lesson on “In the Style of Metallica” failed to load that I decided to post a message, that is, the one lesson that I absolutely remember not working:
I tried opening it in Chrome and opening the ‘intro’ image in another tab and this appeared: “ERROR 404: The page you are looking for does not exist.” I suppose you get a lot of traffic as well which might explain why some lessons are working.June 23, 2013 at 2:30 am #26381
In that URL you pasted, it says “https”. Take the “s” out of there so it reads the following: http://www.infiniteguitar.com/guitar-lessons.php?lessonid=2530
The only page on Infinite Guitar that requires https is the signup page, everything else should remain http.
Should hopefully work for you now! 🙂 Let us know if not.

oh – ok. It seems to be working now .
I copied the web address as was given to me from FireFox browser using the copy command to the Chrome browser, so I didn’t add the “s” myself  . But the lesson is working now.
I’m starting to think FireFox was the culprit adding the secure format “https” to the other lessons that didn’t work .June 23, 2013 at 2:58 am #26383
No worries man! Glad it’s working now! 🙂June 25, 2013 at 8:36 am #26386
Yep, it’s definitely FireFox that’s playing up. After a couple of days I tried loading up some lessons and the dreaded “s” was appearing again on any lesson I tried to access. What I had to do to get the lessons to load properly without intervention was to “logout” of my account and then “login” again and then everything loaded correctly.
This is the only time that FireFox has decided to play up – it’s quite disappointing really :(.
