I Vi ii V progression - Chord Substitutions

Mike Edwin 69 lessons

Welcome Guitar Players!

Over the next several lessons we are going to be looking at possible chord substitutions that can be used over a 'I Vi ii V' progression.

To begin with, I want you to have a go at this sequence of chords and try and get them sounding nice under your finger tips. Once you have a feel for this progression join me in the next lesson and we can start manipulating them and looking at alternate ways to play through this sequence, via some typical substitutions.

Although we are looking at 4 part harmony(aka 7th or 'jazz' chords) the underlying theory can be applied to classical/blues/fusion/rock or what ever style of music you're playing/composing.
