Alright then, time to start the analysis!
In this first part, we are subjected to pretty much all the tools we need throughout the song. Make sure that all the notes of each chord ring out in unison, and that you don’t mute out strings. To make sure of this, start out ultra-slow, so that you get a feel for the piece.
Apart from not muting the notes in the chords, you must also remember to do mute the string that are not supposed to ring out. I refrain from using a hair-band when playing tapping or anything else on guitar. Although this might be a good tool in the studio, to save time nailing that ultra-difficult line or idea, I think you encourage sloppy playing if you use it regularly. The internet is saturated with shredders playing like speed demons up and down the neck with tapping, sweeping and picking, with one or in some cases multiple hair bands muting unwanted string noise. Using contraptions like this when it's not really needed will come back and bite you in the bee-hind in the form of sloppy playing, so tread with care =)
