Thanks gang. I was on my self imposed European Tour of 2009.
Two weeks visiting friends in Spain and Italy. Beautiful countries and beautiful people.
USA to Barcelona (stay 1 night)
drove to Valencia (stay 1 night)
drove north to Girona (sleep in airport)
    Fly to Bergamo Italy
drive to Parma (stay 2 nights)
drive to Tuscana (stay 2 nights)
drive to Sulmona Abruzzo (stay 3 nights) While there explored the mountains as well a l’Aquila to see the terrible earthquake damage.
Drive to Modena (stay 1 night)
Drive to Malpensa (stay 2 nights)
    Visit Lake Stressa (beautiful)
and back home to USA to wife and children (most beautiful sight)

Haven’t played guitar in two weeks. Can’t wait to get back into it.

Sounds awesome but tiring! Did you come anywhere near Carcassonne?

    Rick,
Negative. From Girona Spain I flew into Italy.

My original intent was to drive up the coast of France but that would take to long.
I did not get to visit with any of my musician colleagues from France. It was disappointing because Jacques Pellerin is truly a world class musician as well as a great friend. My next trip will focus on France.

I was solo on this trip and would wake up each morning and decide where to go, what to do and who to see. This was my first trip to Europe and Italy means a great deal to me because my family is from the Northern and Abruzzo regions. In addition, I have friends in Parma and Abruzzo who allowed me to stay with them.

Discanto is the name of the group of musicians in Abruzzo that I stayed with while I was there.

    Really great traditional folk musicians.

I’ll see you next time Rick.

Wow Enrico, what an amazing trip that must have been. I’d love to visit Italy at some point. Sounds so beautiful.

And welcome back my friend! See you around the site,
    Sean
