Well, I shot myself in the foot this time 😀

But seriously, learning this solo was an eye opener to me. Multiple pentatonic scales, a Dorain mode included for Cm if I’m not mistaken. The theory! I’m not sure I’ll ever be able to execute it physically like Blackmore, but its cool. 😎

    Hey Ro, 🙂

You absolutely can play it physically as well as Blackmore (if you so desire!) You are a very good player who’s still progressing, which is GREAT! 😎

BTW, you are “dead-nuts-on” with your assessment of “Smoke On The Water’s Solo” having the “multiple rooted-pentatonics” AND “C-Dorian” moments in it (like that descending 16th-note part about halfway into it!) Except, I think he sneaks a”Gb” in there (flattened-fifth/”Blues-Note) which I’d refer to as a hybrid “C Dorian-Blues.” 😎 😉

You can do it bro! However, if you choose not to, that’s OK too! It would be by choice NOT out of necessity or failure! 😉 🙂

    TTYL! 😀
