Pentatonic Scale: Exploiting Shapes

Hey there and thanks for joining me! I'd like to take the idea I discussed in my previous lesson regarding exploiting shapes and apply it to various scales. Let's start with the good old minor pentatonic scale. OK, we can apply the same principle that we applied in the previous seventh arpeggios lesson. This time we are going to find our shape by playing the first four notes of the first position and move the shape an octave higher each time. As there are five scale positions, it follows that we will have five different shapes to learn. Doing this really helps for us to navigate the fretboard with relative ease as we only have to learn one shape and simply move that shape to a different pair of strings.
