Modular Phrasing Techniques: Mixing it Up! Modular Phrasing Techniques: Backing Track

Remember to practice these in different modes as well.

You'll notice for triads there are only three types: Major, Minor, and Diminished. For all modes these just cycle in order starting from a different spot.

Ex. Mixolydian - 5,6,7,1,2,3,4

      Ionian - 1,2,3,4,5,6,7

      Dorian - 2.3.4.5.6.7.1

ect.....

For scales just start on any mode and they follow the same pattern!

Again this teaches you that you only really have to master one mode to get them all down. Pretty cool huh?

However, in order to be comfortable at any poin and key on the neck, you do need to constantly go throw each and every modal possibilty.

It's a life time process but it's worth it in the end! :)

Good luck!
