Buying a Mic preamp

    Hey Guys,

    How you all doing?

    I’ll get straight to the point! I just purchased a Peavey PV®i 100 dynamic cardioid microphone. I want to record acoustic guitar using this mic straight into my M-Audio Audiophile sound interface. The sound card has RCA inputs. Which preamp is best suited for this? I did quite a bit of searching and landed up with the following:

    * Behringer Micropower PS400 – This one claims to provide phantom power to a condenser microphone. Will this work with a dynamic one too?
    * Behringer TUBE ULTRAGAIN MIC100 – Preamp
    * MAudio Audio Buddy 2 Channel Preamp – preamp

    I don’t have a problem with cable connections and stuff. What I do want is that I can record acoustic guitar well. I’m looking at the Behringer Micropower first as its the cheapest solution and from there on the prices really start increasing! 🙂

    Any help would be great!
