Infinite Guitar Group Jam

    Hey dudes and dudettes.

This is no original idea, but I was thinking it would be nice to once try and get a jam together here on InfiniteGuitar. I have a backing track lying around that I have in my mind, and then it could be split into say x parts and you would play your part. Nice way to practice improvisation etc.

You probably all know the drill.

    What say you?

I have uploaded the track I have in mind here:

    http://www.sendspace.com/file/9haae4

And I suggest it be divided such as this:

    00:00 – 00:42 – Caelumamittendum
    00:42 – 01:22 –
    01:22 – 02:01 –
    02:01 – 03:00 –

If this is no good idea at all, it can easily be called off šŸ™‚

PS: I went ahead and took the first spot.

I somehow got stuck in a very annoying lydian scale, but I’ll take the second spot, anyway.
    Wish me luck ; )

Cool, man! Looking forward to it! šŸ™‚

I believe this should work: http://www.sendspace.com/file/4hvkl1
I depleted my creativity with the first part though… just didn’t know what to play, so I stuck with the pentatonic scale : q
If the timing’s off, it’s because I record with a 50ms delay, which makes it really difficult to stay on beat!

(I must also appologize to no. 3, as I played to 1:24)

    Nice guitar sound!
The part between 0:23-0:25 is awesome! (They’re not just notes, but they change the sound of the backing)

Nice playing man! I really like the vibe from 00:45 to 0:55!

Haha, my guitar sound is actually straight from my Boss GT6.
About the 0:23-0:25, I actually wanted to give it a harmonic minor flavor, and the run should have been a bit smoother, but I failed in that one, I geuss šŸ™‚

I love it guys! Great idea Ben. And great playing to both of you. I’m a bit busy to contribute to this one, but I am thoroughly enjoying hearing your takes. Keep it up! Who’s going to be #3? šŸ˜€

Yeah, I definitely need to improvise without melody more often : )
Everything is so much easier when there’s a melody to play around with. Much more difficult when you have to make everything up yourself : )

(Cheating tactic: I’ve been playing a little more over this track, and I found it’s alot easier if I sing a melody before actually playing anything on the guitar. It takes away a little of “improvisation” from improvisation, but it’s a good way of making a good melody to follow when you actually play.)

Great job pekki! I’m loving this guys. Excellent way to practice and collaborate.

    Who’s going to be #4? šŸ™‚

I’m sure you could pwn us all in easily, Sean. It would take just 2 min to do and record that :p
