Just got an Xbox360. Any game recommendations?

Hey folks,

So I’ve never been much of a gamer at all, but I’ve been wanting a game system for quite a while. I finally took the plunge and got an Xbox 360. It came with 2 games, Lego Indiana Jones and Kung Fu Panda. The Lego one looks super dumb so I haven’t even touched it. I’ve had some good fun with Kung Fu Panda though. That movie rocks by the way! 😀

Anyway, does anybody have some good recommendations for games? Seems like there’s so many out there with mixed reviews so it’s a little hard to choose. One game I want for sure is Halo 3, and maybe one of the Call of Duty games. I’m pretty much open to anything really. I want a cool racing game, maybe a neat RPG, etc.

Thanks for any tips!

Cool deal man, but for starters go get xbox live, so you can play with other people around the world. 🙂

I don’t use myn that often but I’d defiantly check out gears of war 2, and call of duty 5, and if you are looking for a cool RPG, I would really check out Fable 2.

For single player I recommend you Prey. It is an amazing game, with really a really awesome story line that makes you feel you are inside the game, it has good graphics and it is excellent if you like challenges!

For multiplayer I recommend you some shooting games like Halo 3, Gears of War 2, and Call of Duty 4

Those are some of the games i have , i dont play much 360 but i do enjoyed those games 🙂

I highly recommend Half-Life 2, a FPS. I’m not entirely sure its out for XBOX though and I’m playing it on my PC. Its much more than a game. Its old yes, but its a game you just have to play. The screenplay and acting is excellent throughout.

I’m considering getting a PS3 actually, cash permitting. Let us know what you get and what you think of the 360 too.

Hey thanks for the tips guys! I’ll definitely look into those games.

Rick – hahaha no kidding. Nah I probably won’t be able to play it as much as I want, but it’ll be fun when I have down time every once in a while. You should get an xbox so we can play each other. It’d be good exercise for our guitar playing. 😉

And yeah I’m loving the xbox so far with the one game I’ve played with it. Absolutely stunning graphics and playability.

Well I’ve just been having a look at prices and it seems that the Xbox is about half the price of a PS3 hmmmmm food for thought.

Hey guys,

I bought an Xbox 360 about a year ago and a PS3 about 6 months later. I’m a gear junkie!! I love them both but hardly ever get to switch them on. I feel so guilty about it when I play on them though, like I should be practising or something! Does anyone else get that feeling?!

They are both awesome fun though and the PS3 especially is great if you have an HD tv and like watching films in HD. Bluray is great! My favourite games at the moment, when I get chance to play, are Gears of War 2 on the 360 and Metal Gear Solid 4 on the PS3.

My gamer tag is Jazzman Tom – add me if you’ve got a 360, and just tq105 on the PS3.

Haha, thank god I am not the only human here. I always imagined the likes of you, just sitting with your guitar in your hands all day and studying theory during your breaks:)
I always feel guilty as well. I hate it, I cant properly sit down and play games any more cause my consciousness screws me over. Gears of War 2 is great, but I really don’t like the fact that you have to know every map and weapon locations to stand a chance. I always get raped there when I play live..so I usually stick to call of duty when I first sit down and play.

You definitely need Halo 3 and Xbox Live. Then we can rip some Halo! I’ve played it in a few tournaments and definitely believe it’s the best 360 game out there. But do it soon because I want to sell my 360 so I can focus only on my music!

man you guys should get rockband 2 so we can start an infiniteguitar band on it. also, if anyone wants to play halo 3, cod4, or some left4dead my gamertag is Blue Matter. most people dont understand where i got that name, but since you guys all play guitar you may catch the JS reference. lol
