Modeling amp recommendations?

I have been doing some research on a replacement (the online supplier will allow me full credit for the amp once I return it.) and I’m kind of torn between getting another Roland amp (Cube-30x). a Line 6 Spider, or a Behringer V-ampire LX210. All of these are, again, modeling amps with various features.
I’m a hobbyist guitar player and simply need something along the lines of a practice amp.
Does anyone have any recommendations on any of these amps or others, perhaps, which I haven’t listed?

Great playing on Axl’s Chinese Democracy!!! (LOL!) 😀 BTW, I refuse to call it G & R’s LP! It’s an Axl solo record, and everyone knows it! 😉

Anyways, check out the Fender G-DEC! I own a G-DEC 30 (30 watt version – $369.) and I use it every day for teaching. I’ve even done a few gigs with it (although the sold-separately footswitch is NOT quite flexible enough – I would’ve preferred a generic MIDI controller input!) However, if you’re NOT looking to gig with it much, it’s a GREAT little amp! The models are very good and most of the effects are outstanding (IMHO.) 😎 It’s also got a phrase-sampler (which allows half-speed playback – great for slowing down Rick Graham’s fretboard histrionics!!! – LOL!) and it also has some decent backing/accompaniment “loops” which are great for working on improvisation (you can control/edit tempo and key for all loops!) Great features! 😉

BTW, if the G-DEC 30 is a bit out of your price range, they have a 15-watt version ($269) that has near-identical features! (less-power, shorter phrase-sampler loop-time, slightly different aux-input filter-section/pan/EQ.) 😎

Jeez, I’m starting to sound like a “Fender Product Rep!” (LOL!) I promise, I’m NOT! Just a teacher/player and a fan of this little amp! 😉

Yes LOL on BH’s efforts with Axl! Axl gets on my nerves too, and I’m a bit surprised at how willing Ron Thal (aka “Bumblefoot”) was to “drink the Axl kool-aid!” I read an interview with Thal recently in one of the guitar trade-mags (I forget which one?) where he seems so genuine in his interest to be a “team-player,” and just “one-of-the-guys” in a rock-band, but I find his portrayal of Axl (as being a grounded & balanced guy himself?!?) to be a bit unfathomable?!? 😮 When Thal says “Axl has a clear vision of what he wants G&R to sound like, and I trust his vision 100%.” Or when Thal says “I think that Axl just understands me and my idiosyncracies and wants to collaborate and bring out my best stuff in an attempt to fulfill his vision,” (BTW, I am definitely paraphrasing here, but the ideas and intent of Thal’s words/dialogue are intact here.) I really have a hard time buying into those thoughts/ideas/opinions 100%?!? :rolleyes:

Whatever! I don’t even care enough to waste my time on a topic related to Axl, but I have enjoyed both Buckethead’s and Bumblefoot’s (Ron Thal’s) music that I’ve heard. 😎
