Randall Amp Info?

I just bought a Randall Cyclone 300 watt solid state head for a couple hundred bucks to own as a backup for gigs. Does anyone know if you can run the line out without the head being hooked to a cab? I know in most tube amps the transformer will fry if you do this. Also the head operates at 4, 8, and 16 ohms. I have a 1X12 4ohm 90 watt mesa extension cab I want to plug it into just just to play around with(I normally would run it into my full stack). The ohms are ok, but I’m worried running the 300 watts of power to the 90 watt speaker. Anyone experienced with hooking these types of heads up?
