Although death in and of itself is always sad, what a blessing to live 94 years! Good for him. Les Paul’s legacy will always be remembered.

I’ve owned three of his namesakes in the past. He was a true pioneer in the world of music. He will be missed.

You are so correct that Les Paul was a legend and a pioneer! Most people have no idea how much influence he had in singlehandedly accelerating the advent of multitrack recording as we know it! I’m not saying that it never would’ve happened, as I’m sure it would’ve, but for him to have conquered parallel recorded and mixed “sound-on-sound” (back then) was way ahead of his time! šŸ˜® šŸ˜Ž šŸ˜‰

Also, the obvious development of the solidbody electric and magnetic-electric pickups as we know them was brought forth by the man – the genius – Les Paul! šŸ˜Ž

And let’s NOT forget that he was a helluva musician to boot!

WOW! I would’ve settled for any one of those three accomplishments, never mind ALL THREE! šŸ˜®

He will be missed for sure...:(

One of my friends actually got to visit Les in Les’s home and got a personal tour of all the technology Les brought to life! Les even allowed photos of some of his historic inventions.

Not being able to do this myself, I found the movie; “Les Paul Chasing Sound!” to fantastic.

A very recent documentary about Les with Les himself showing his home and inventions. Also him jamming at the Iridium Jazz Club where he played every Monday night up until his death.

The film gave me an even greater appreciation and respect for an amazing man.
