    Hey great job Tim!! šŸ™‚

And what’s up with your finger exactly? Can you describe the pain and where in the finger the pain is coming from? Hope it heals well bro! Good decision in taking some time off and utilizing the time to work on theory.

Keep us updated with your status.

Might be a bit hard to explian. I’ll take a piture of my hand when I get home.

So my finger – Left hand Pointer finger.

Look at your hand so you can see your palm.. look twoards the bottom of your pointer finger its right where the hand and pointer finger connects, It’s just one tendon.. and seems to only hurt after I play for a while, so I think it should’nt be that long untile I’ll be back playing.

I suck at describing so I’ll just take a piture and point it out later.

Sounds like you have been working hard šŸ™‚

It’s not uncommon to get pains in joints and muscles when your practicing/playing more than usual.

Take a break for sure but dont abandon the guitar all together for any period of time.

Even if it means you just pick it up for 15 mins and strum light chords or do some easy scale practice. The trick is to keep your hand in the mode of playing every day, even if you just have to tone it down a bit.

Clearly I’m not a doctor and would hate to make your hand worse. But in my experience these things pass quickly, and I find that working around the injury as best you can pays off.

Good luck with it though. I will channel you some good guitar vibes tonite, maybe that will help šŸ˜‰

Nice work on the video by the way. I watched the first link so far. For the most part you held the tune quite well. Toward the middle though, I’m not sure if you changed key or if it was the backing track. Double check the chords though.

    None the less, good stuff!

Yeah It goes to E major or C# minor… I was kinda lost when It happend, I did change key, but I changed to C minor accidently. But its only for 15-25 seconds so no biggie. Did’nt sound TOO out.. so whatever I wrote a little peice over this track.. Alot better than these improvs me thinks. Mabye I’ll learn it and post it up.

But yeah.. I play untile i start to feel any pain in my finger. Cause it can get quite painfull but like you said I’m sure it will pass.

    Thanks man.

I’m relaly just using this as a reason to brush up on theory.. I wasent going to STOP playing.. thats impossible for me :).

Yeah it’s all about the TYPE of pain with these things really. There’s a muscle ache/soreness that is completely normal when playing for long periods. But sharp, stinging pain is what you want to look out for. That’s nerve stuff. That’s the stuff that can get dangerous really fast if you aren’t careful. So if you’re experiencing nerve pain, I’d tread very lightly and if it doesn’t go away, see a doctor. But yeah if it’s just a strained muscle, it should heal pretty soon.

    Best of luck bro!

    Mabye I just over reacted..

Its not a sharp pain, more blunt and I think it is just muscular..

    Well I guess I’m glad I’m wrong :).

If your reading, you might want to check out the second link before the first. A bit better I think.

Good to hear man! Yeah you should be fine if it’s just muscular. Be sure to stretch and warm up those muscles as frequently as possible! šŸ™‚
