    Dream Theater – “Awake”

I haven’t listened to DT for a while so I decided to pop in some of their CDs. I just finished listening to “Systematic Chaos” as well. I can honestly say I miss DT back in the day. Although there’s some good moments in their new material, it just doesn’t really do it for me. “Six Degrees” was the last DT album that really blew me away. Everything since has felt a bit uninspired in my opinion.

They still rule though!! 😀 They’ve made some of the best music in the world.

Impelliteri – Screaming Symphony album. Some REALLY cool stuff, full of energy.

    Cacophony – Savage.

Really, the whole album is kind of weak except for the final Speed Metal Symphony

    Another Won – Dream Theater

Which is kinda odd because I’ve been on a Devy kick lately. I downloaded his Physicist album as well as all the SYL albums. Now I am debating which albums by Sodom I should get.

I saw them (strapping young lad) at ozzfest a few years ago and I just about died in laughter. Let me explain.

…I think it was ozzfest 06′, I don’t remember much other than most the bands SUCKED MAJOR @#$!^!^#$!(@)&!%~. System of a down, avenged sevefold, and disturbed were the main headliners.

Anyways, we’re at the smaller stage and we see this band setting up and my friend (other guitarist in half of my band projects) says “hey, look at that old roadie, that guy looks hilareous with that tiny guitar and mic”… Not 5 seconds later he just busts out with this insane growl that shook the stage… We look back and forth… blank stare… “nice”

Old bald dude leading a band called “Strapping Young Lad”… and they were one of the best bands of the day… By the end of the concert we were just about crying at the irony.

Oh yea, what am I listening to?

Project 86 – …And The Rest Will Follow

I haven’t listened to any music at all for about a week – except that from the TV, movies etc.

Sometimes I can go weeks without really listening to any music. I don’t really know why though, I geuss it’s supposed to be quite a large part of my life, but something just tells me, that my ideas as far as guitar playing and composing goes will be more original if I don’t listen to music – it’s quite instinctive, but ineffective. Haha…

Other times I just run out of time – suddenly the day is up and I’ve been doing a lot of other stuff than listening to music or playing guitar. Hopefully that will change after the exams (ending 23rd of June).

Gosh I’m not sure I could live like that.

My head is filled with music 24/7. I have music in my dreams. When I’m not listening to music I’ve got some song floating around my head, sometimes completely origonal.

Right now I’m listening to Evengy Kissin play Moonlight Sonota. One of the sweetest CDs I have.
