hey guys. im wondering if you think i should adjust the truss road on my jackson. the low E side is almost staight as an arrow. only a bit of relief. but on the high E string its SUPER straight. almost so straight it looks like it might be bowing a hair ( i mean a hair like .01 mm.) but it doesnt really buzz. it buzzes like any other guitar because metal on metal creates some buzz. but it doesnt come through the amp. i like the action and the guitar plays great. im thinking maybe losening the neck less then a 1/8 of a turn to give it a bit more relief so its not straight as an arrow. what do you guys think? i cant deside if i should or if i should just leave it for now

Why wouldn’t you want the neck straight? I don’t get it…

The only reason to ever adjust the neck would be becuase you can’t get low enogh action without buzz. If you like your action, and don’t have too much buzz, then don’t worry about it.

Neck bow is not only a tool to adjust fret-buzz.
It’s even more important for overall playability.
Straighter is not always better. If you use thin strings,
like 0.09, you might get away with a really straight neck.
But using 0.11, 0.12 or even 0.10, some relief is preferrable.
This because it makes for better bending, and cleaner tone.
A reasonable relief allows the strings to vibrate freely, and thus
sustain and intonation will be better, not to mention better playability
for bending and vibrato. There is no “true” neckbow, perfect for everyone.
The relief should be adjusted according to musical style and preference.
