Intervallic Fusion lick in B Dorian

Steve Hubbard 107 lessons

Hey folks! Here's a fun little lick I came up with. Hope you enjoy!

This lead lick falls into the key of B minor / B Dorian, with most of the notes coming from the minor pentatonic box.

I tried to play the lick with a 'swing' feel, but feel free to use straight 16ths, if desired.

As far as technique, I'm using mostly legato, but also use a tiny bit of sweep picking. This also works great if you switch out the upstrokes with pluck from the right hand. (i.e. hybrid picking)

Hopefully, this lick will inspire and challenge you to work with some new shapes and ideas, to later form some similar runs of your own.

Practice hard, and feel free to ask any questions in the forum.
