Sahweet! Sounds massively funk-tastic- love the groovy breakdown after the solo. It’s really fun to finally hear a full version as it was such a blast of a tutorial to learn/jam on… Also- it’s super cool to hear you in this context, love the final solo section as well and gotta say that this piece is totally hooky- y’all did an amazing job! Truly awesome, inspiring and masterful in all ways! I look forward to hearing all the amazing music you will make over the years!!

June 16, 2011 at 1:55 am #25679JBGuitarParticipantLooks Awesome- just ordered mine now 🙂 Such great playing and a super fun track to jam on as well!
June 4, 2011 at 9:47 pm #25659JBGuitarParticipantSounds Authentically Rockin’ man- nice job with the tougher passage at the end as well- my only caveat would be to say; “Be proud of your hard work and the time it took to nail this Marco Odyssey and turn up your guitars a bit in the mix!” All in all great stuff- but stand strong and push the guitars a bit louder for all of your friends/family to enjoy. It’s a weird thing but myself and many others often do the very same in the mix- and then end up remixing things a second time a few months later lol. Great playing- great vibe and an overall awesome job! You should be stoked with your work! m/
May 27, 2011 at 1:38 pm #25640JBGuitarParticipantGreat Playing!! Best of luck – you did an amazing job here!
May 8, 2011 at 1:48 pm #25626JBGuitarParticipantSublime phrasing- beautiful and emotionally moving melody lines throughout. The muted percussive open was super clever to immediately take the listener to a rhythmic place right at the get-go- before easing us into the more fluid Howe-like technical line that immediately followed prior to the soaring melody. As with all great playing- you left me wanting to hear much more than 1:02 – exceptional development and supreme musicality here as always! Hope you win Richard! – and for the record I thought you totally nailed the style and “spirit” of the track.
April 20, 2011 at 12:30 am #25603JBGuitarParticipantAmen Sean! Really fun project to tackle and it’s been a ton of fun grooving along to these tabs- and seeing how these quintessential pop tracks were put together. Levi- your skills are unparalleled on the transcription front- just too cool. Thanks a ton for putting this out there for everyone man! Cheers!
April 15, 2011 at 10:06 pm #25596JBGuitarParticipantSuper Cool Chris! Big, hearty mix with total pristine clarity. Love the layered guitar riffing- both parts create a powerful and seemless whole- and of course I just gotta echo Sean here regarding your drummer- his playing is off the chain here in fact you all are locked just perfectly tight. Great chorus here as well- can’t wait to hear the full track man…Beyond awesome work- you all should be really stoked!
April 15, 2011 at 4:25 pm #25592JBGuitarParticipantThanks for checking it out and the kind words man. Wrote the melody and all the guitars- sadly I didn’t write the backing :D(From a Pete Vogl “Let’s Jam” CD)
Cheers-J
April 12, 2011 at 2:46 pm #25572JBGuitarParticipantRockin’ indeed! Loved how you approached the chorus hooky section- one thing I particularly dug was you had me waiting for each next line- when a really good player achieves that- you just fall into the spell of the music. Great energy faithful to master Guthrie’s rather raucous and fun original take on this cool track. You play with great phrasing, really coherent and nicely-fitting lines and give a great musical journey man. Super cool work!
April 12, 2011 at 2:43 pm #25571JBGuitarParticipantNice riffin’ and playing man- I echo what the others said if you intend to polish and refine- but as it stands right now- some very cool playing and a really fun listen! Cheers and post up some more! m/
April 12, 2011 at 2:40 pm #25570JBGuitarParticipantReally fun lesson and cool idea to put this up- I hear this tune EVERYWHERE 😀 Jamming pop like this is so good for alot of us I think- great for hearing how contemporary melodys are constructed and developed and just great practice to jam. Oh and a nice plus for my gf to hear a tune like this instead of some esoteric Holdsworth attempt( as I can’t even begin to play something like that)… 😀
