Not tried one myself, but from what I’ve heard to blows the competition out of the water. The likes of Greg Howe, Marco Sfogli, Dweezil Zappa etc. all seem to love the thing too.

Take G7 (G B D F). You could lower the 3rd to make it G Min 7th (G Bb D F), raise the seventh to make it G Maj 7 (G B D F#) or lower the 3rd and 5th to make it Minor 7th b5 (G Bb Db F). By just seeing the notes that change, it should make things a lot easier.

Just been looking around their site, a lot of the stuff seems like ridiculously good value, I might just have to start saving for one of the lower wattage heads! It seems English Valve Amps do a similar thing too. In the meantime, I’m starting to get some nice tone out of Guitar Rig 4. I’m getting a relatively Dumble-esque tone by driving…an AC30!
February 25, 2010 at 8:01 am #24080TheAngusBurgerParticipantWhat exactly does Ceriatone make? Just the actual amp? Or the enclosure ect too? I couldn’t figure anything out from their site…
February 21, 2010 at 7:27 pm #24246TheAngusBurgerParticipantI seem to remember watching that video a while ago. It’s the holy grail of all amps!
February 7, 2010 at 8:59 pm #24153TheAngusBurgerParticipantI think this is pretty accurate… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8K4At4mU7SM&feature=related
February 7, 2010 at 8:48 pm #24151TheAngusBurgerParticipantI neglected to mention you in that list Jack! You’re certainly included!
And I know what you mean Bill. Tapping for the sake of tapping, sweeping for the sake of sweeping etc. just irritates me. Players like Herman Li don’t seem to be able to grasp that techniques such as these should be used as a means to play music, not something to override the compositional aspect of music – the most important aspect.
February 7, 2010 at 6:20 am #24143TheAngusBurgerParticipantI think I value the opinions of Rick, Guthrie, Greg Howe, Alex Hutchings, Damjan Pejcinoski etc. over Herman Li!
February 4, 2010 at 10:52 pm #24141TheAngusBurgerParticipantHave you got DFH for EzDrummer? For the heavier stuff it’s fantastic. Oh, and I wouldn’t worry about keeping the Mac offline, I haven’t found any slowdown at all on my Mac so far, there’s no registry to get clogged up and you aren’t plastered with tracking cookies on every webpage you visit.
February 4, 2010 at 6:59 pm #24128TheAngusBurgerParticipantBoot Camp, which facilitates running Windows under a separate partition, has been around officially for a few years now (introduced in Leopard I think?), although I think it existed unofficially beforehand. You can buy virtualisation software like Parallels Desktop if you want to run Windows/Linux apps side-by-side with Mac applications. The performance isn’t as good this way though.
February 4, 2010 at 4:00 pm #24106TheAngusBurgerParticipantNiiiiice! I got mine last year for Christmas, never ceases to amaze. What screen size? The 27″ one is monstrous.
February 3, 2010 at 8:07 pm #24100TheAngusBurgerParticipantYeah, it’s not perfect in any shape or form, but I suppose that’s the whole point of improvisation – both avoiding mistakes and dealing with them when they crop up. I could have spent ages practicing and composing a solo, but I thought I’d upload an accurate representation of my playing at the moment, which isn’t all that great, lol. Thanks for the comments btw.
Oh and in what sense did you think the tone was dry? Reverb wise?
January 30, 2010 at 11:03 am #24038TheAngusBurgerParticipantHe’s by far my favorite played at the moment. His musicality and chops never cease to amaze. I’d check out Alex Argento’s Ego and Adam Nitti’s Liminal if you want to hear some more of him, both amazing albums.
January 21, 2010 at 10:15 pm #23995TheAngusBurgerParticipantJust posted a slightly more in-depth video if any of you are interested. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ASW2oKehLE
As I say, I’ll post a demo in the next couple of weeks showcasing its versatility.
January 21, 2010 at 8:21 pm #23990TheAngusBurgerParticipantI just posted a quick entry to a competition using my new axe, check it out if you want… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OQSey3LDTAw
