    I’ve always been a big fan of The two Ronnies particularly Ronnie Barker and I always watched their show when I was growing up. Barker wrote some fantastically clever sketches
    Here’s the classic ‘Mastermind’ sketch

    haha that is definitely clever. You have to think quite a bit throughout but that seems to be the point. By the way, I’m not familiar with the show, but were his answers scripted or did he improvise that? Either way pretty cool stuff.

    The 2 Ronnies was thoroughly scripted AFAIK.

    There was a brilliant 2 Ronnies parody on Not The Nine O’Clock News which was written by a disgruntled former 2 Ronnies writer. Ronnie Barker (the bigger one) was not amused. But that’s thespians for you. The other one (Ronnie Corbet, a life-long light entertainments guy) thought it was brilliant.

    Yeah there is no way anyone could improvise that stuff.

    I’ve no idea what Barker was like as a person but as a comedian/actor he was exceptional.

    I agree about Barker being great. A bit opinionated and sensitive though. I guess you’ve got to be very passionate about your art to work that hard to be consistently successful for that long.
