Reading Music For Guitar - Open Position Exercises Reading Music For Guitar - Open A String Notes

Ok, peeps. Here we are going to go over the notes of the open position of the guitar, starting one string at a time, and we are going to begin with the notes on the low E string, which are the Open E, F and G notes.

Shown below are where these notes are on the fretboard. Make sure that you have these notes memorized before going on to the example exercise.

The exercise combines all of the open string notes as well as the 2 extra notes you have now learned. As before with all of the other exercises, be sure to sing and clap the rhythms FIRST before trying to play these on the guitar. Start off slowly with a metronome, and once you have it down, bring up the tempo if you wish. If you want, take it one bar at a time to start off, and once you have that bar down, you can go on to the other ones.
