Cool and unusual looking Yamaha you’ve got there 🙂
Nice jam too! 🙂
Thanks! It’s an AES800, though I can’t really find that exact model anywhere on Yamaha’s website.
I know it’s not quite up there with some of the stuff you guys play, but I hope to get a little better at the fusion-ish side of guitar playing.
November 10, 2009 at 6:03 pm #23326CaelumamittendumParticipantHey Sean!
Thanks for the welcoming back. I’ve been “away” from the site for quite some time, yes. There seems to have been some major improvements to the site here and there’re now a lot more lessons than last time I checked.
It really is a cool guitar, despite the fact that it’s a “cheap”-ish Yamaha. I don’t have all that much room for guitars in my new apartment, but I’m looking into putting them onto the wall. Will bring my bass back some time too. I can’t remember if I’ve shown you guys a picture of that, but come the time I will do it.
As mentioned… this guitar has UNBELIEVABLY low action. You could literally just blow the frets to the fretboard. It’s definetaly a step “up”/(down ;)) from the guitar I’ve been using for the past year and the one before that as well.
November 10, 2009 at 5:59 pm #23325CaelumamittendumParticipantAny chance of a tab of this lick? It sounds great and fusion-ish to my ears.
March 19, 2009 at 4:35 pm #21216CaelumamittendumParticipantArh, alright. Would you think that those other backing tracks (“Practice Trx 1-20”) were from the same guy who made that specific one?

Cool one man!
The first track is the same I use for my Super Continental song btw =)
(might give you some ideas for further jams)
https://www.infiniteguitar.com/viewtutorial.php?tutorial=94Woah! That actually came as a surprise to me. I have heard and even played through a lot of Super Continental, but I never noticed it was played on top of that specific backing track.
Another thing about the backing track, Richard. I notice on GuitarBT.com, that it is called Practice Trx 2, amongst the other 1-20. Do you happen to know where these are originally from? I’ve been in search of a book/video/dvd/cd containing these and info/lesson etc. for quite some time. Might be I’m searching for something non-existent. Can you in any way enlighten me?
July 31, 2008 at 11:22 am #19048CaelumamittendumParticipantHey Sean! Thanks for the advice, I’ll be sure to include it in my further development as a player! 🙂
Well, I used to have about 400 posts at Petrucciforum by the name “King-of-loss” (as the Pain of Salvation song). That is actually my username on many forums I’ve frequented since 2004-2005. However suddenly my post count dropped to 100. Don’t know why. Doesn’t matter much though. Anyways… King-of-loss it is 🙂
July 8, 2008 at 10:14 pm #18882CaelumamittendumParticipantThat guitar is not safe, Rick. I’ll somehow figure out where you live and…
Arh. It’s a beauty!
June 24, 2008 at 1:20 am #18723CaelumamittendumParticipantNever knew the man, never heard the name. Maybe it’s because I’m Danish. So neither his existens or death has meant that much to me, but sad either way.

Ok guys. Time to keep this train rollin! And Gollum, this is your opportunity to get off your butt and record something! 😉
I have a track here for you guys to jam over. It’s a little different than what some of you have jammed over up till now. The track is called “A Dorian” so that should kinda give you an idea of what to use.
I won’t be jamming on this one this time, so this is for everyone else who wants a shot.

I’ve heard that track somewhere else, but I can’t remember where. On another site obviously.
June 15, 2008 at 12:05 am #18669CaelumamittendumParticipantSorry for shortening your time, man! :/
Love the take, love the tone!
June 14, 2008 at 7:52 pm #18667CaelumamittendumParticipantI think I jammed a few seconds too long – kept happening, no matter how many takes I did. Haha. Decided to kinda fade it out. Hope it’s okay! 🙂
June 14, 2008 at 3:27 pm #18666CaelumamittendumParticipantI’m gonna record my part tonight after my girlfriend has left 🙂
June 13, 2008 at 8:23 pm #18662CaelumamittendumParticipantI’ll gladly take the second spot 😉
Will record tomorrow.
Love the harmony parts by the way!
June 13, 2008 at 4:43 pm #18659CaelumamittendumParticipantThat’s just insane.
June 12, 2008 at 11:27 pm #18654CaelumamittendumParticipantNo icons? 😮
