Holiday greetings and salutations guitar slingers!

X-mas is drawing near, and what says happy holidays better than a sweeping-frenzy? In this technique/song tutorial, we will take a look at an excerpt from the song Tribute off my Fretdance(2003) album. The song itself is a pretty strange mix of techno and shred, and the sweeping etude is the second part of the tune. The whole thing was mostly inspired by the works of Jason Becker, hence the title "Tribute".

However, we will start the tutorial by going through some key sweeping exercises that I feel are needed to be well prepared for the Tribute excerpt later on. Also, if you are at all unfamiliar with the concept of sweeping, I also recommend that you take a look at Sean Conklin’s Arpeggio Etude tutorial.

Once you've gone through that and watched the video, head on over to Exercise 1!
