Classical Guitar Solo - Pavane Part 2

Rick Graham 210 lessons

As we have modulated to the dominant key, B major, you may want to think about adding some subtleties in dynamics or tone to heighten the tension a little. No need to go overboard with it, just a little sprinkling here and there will be enough to bring out the flavor of the music. I like to think of this as maybe a Chef would think of adding flavors to a meal. More often than not, it is the subtle use of seasoning which will be more effective rather than piling on the garlic at every opportunity. Anyway, enough of the cookery lesson!

Let the obvious things guide you with regard to tone and dynamics and if you have a phrase which repeats, experiment with how you can create interest rather than playing exactly what you did before. Also, during your practice session, don't be afraid to experiment and let your ears be your guide.
