Chronic Xorn - Mercy Solo

Travis Montgomery 32 lessons

Here's a lick that I used in a guest solo for the band Chronic Xorn. The song is called "Mercy". I was going for a Paul Gilbert-esque string skipping type feel. This lick uses quite a bit of hammer-ons, pull-offs, tapping, and a bit of alternate picking. The picking for the lick isn't too difficult, so you're mostly focusing on muting the B string when making that jump to the high E string. You really want to make sure that there is no noise when doing this. Overall, the lick is fun to play and the only section that gets really tricky is the ending triplet run.
