Chromatic Line Test - Descending

Advanced Chords Jazz
Nick Granville 14 lessons

In this lesson I show a way to move through chord progessions (II, V, I, VI in this case) while keeping a descending chromatic line on the top. This is not easy and will encourage you to find new voicings and ultimately be able to play advanced chords in all positions.

Next step:

1. Do this same thing in other keys. Bb is an obvious choice as a starting place as it is the most popular key in jazz music, but other keys will present other challenges.

2. Do this same thing with other chord progressions; both simple and complex.
